FAQ

How does the pool work?

Do I need to register an account to mine?

Registration is not required. Just configure your miner according to our instructions and start mining. Your first submitted share will automatically register you with our pool. Good Luck!

Why is my reported hashrate zero or different from what my miner reports?

Pool and miner hashrates are re-calculated every ten minutes. Therefore it can take a maximum of ten minutes for your hashrate to update depending on the submission time of your first valid share. The hashrate we display at the pool is a rough approximation of your hashrate based on your submitted shares and can therefore differ significantly from the hashrate displayed locally. When in doubt always consider the value displayed by your miner as the correct one.

How does payout work?

SoloBoost uses a custom payout system designed for fair solo mining. When a block is found, the reward is distributed between all miners who contributed valid shares during the round. The block finder receives the largest portion of the reward, but the payout is not 100% to the finder if other miners also contributed work.

This means:

  • The miner who solves the block gets the highest share.
  • Other miners who submitted valid shares during the round also receive a portion.
  • The pool fee is deducted before payouts are distributed.

Payouts are processed automatically every 10 minutes once the block becomes mature. No manual action is required.

What is the Finder Bonus?

The Finder Bonus is the extra reward given to the miner who actually solves the block. When a block is found, the finder receives the largest portion of the block reward as a bonus for submitting the winning share.

SoloBoost uses a fair-solo payout system. This means:

  • The block finder always receives the biggest payout.
  • Other miners who submitted valid shares during the round also receive a portion of the reward.
  • The reward is split proportionally based on each miners submitted work.
  • The pool fee is deducted before payouts are distributed.

This system ensures fairness: the finder is rewarded for the lucky winning share, while all miners who helped move the round forward still earn something. Small miners like Bitaxe devices can earn steady payouts even when they dont find the block, and the finder still gets the largest share.

When will I get paid?

You won't see any balance until a block has been found by your miner and the block has reached mature status. This may take a couple hours depending on the coin. As soon as a block is considered 'mature' by the pool, your payment will be sent to you.

Trustworthiness, reliability, support and low latency are the things you should consider when choosing a pool. By avoiding the largest pools you contribute to the network health by spreading the hash power.

What happens if I disconnect while mining?

If your miner disconnects, your hashrate will drop to zero until you reconnect. Any shares you submitted before disconnecting are still counted, but you cannot find a block unless your miner is actively submitting shares.

Do I need a minimum hashrate to solo mine?

No minimum hashrate is required. However, solo mining is luck-based. Higher hashrate increases your chances of finding a block, but even small miners can get lucky. Solo mining is similar to buying a lottery ticket with hashpower sometimes you hit, sometimes you dont.

What wallet address should I use?

Always use a wallet address that you fully control. Do not mine directly to an exchange wallet. Some exchanges do not credit block rewards or may reject transactions from mining pools. Use a local wallet or a hardware wallet whenever possible.

Why does the pool show 0 blocks even though Im mining?

Blocks are only counted when a miner actually finds one. If no blocks have been found yet, the pool will show zero blocks. This is normal for new pools or coins with high difficulty.

Why does the pool effort go above 100%?

Pool effort is a measure of how much work has been done compared to the expected amount needed to find a block. Effort above 100% simply means the pool has been unlucky. Effort below 100% means the pool has been lucky. This is normal and expected in solo mining.

Why is the block reward split?

SoloBoost is designed to reward all miners who contributed work toward finding the block. Even though solo mining is luck-based, miners who submit valid shares help move the round forward. Splitting the reward ensures fairness and encourages consistent participation, while still giving the block finder the largest payout.

How is my share of the reward calculated?

Your payout is based on the number of valid shares you submitted during the round. More shares equals a larger portion of the block reward. The block finder receives the largest share, and all other miners receive a smaller portion proportional to their submitted work.

What happens if multiple miners submit shares at the same time?

All valid shares count toward the round. Even if your miner did not find the winning block, your submitted shares still earn you a portion of the reward. Only the miner who submits the valid block gets the finder bonus.

Do I still get paid if I didnt find the block?

Yes. As long as you submitted valid shares during the round, you will receive a portion of the block reward. The finder receives the largest payout, but all contributing miners are rewarded.

What is block maturity?

After a block is found, it must reach a certain number of confirmations before it becomes spendable. This is called maturity. Each coin has its own maturity depth. Once the block is mature, SoloBoost automatically sends payouts to all miners who earned a share.
